"I found an old Alps Glidepoint from around 1997 (9-pin serial) and connected to my serial port on Inspiron 8200. XP recognized it as a serial mouse but it wouldn't work so I updated the drivers for that device with these files and after a re-boot the Glidepoint works. Still looks like a serial mouse, and the Control Panel functions affect my regular mouse, not the Glidep

"When updating to this driver on XP, got blue screen and reboot. System had to be restored to boot again."
