"Thanks Jason, he was totally right. I just deleted the _linux.gz and left the file name as cmpci-5.68.tar when I was saving the file to my floppy (in Windows since my parents have AOL which I don't know how to run in Linux). So have fun people, if you can extract it properly it'll run fine, or rename it, or this website can rename it."

"The archive will not appear to be valid because the file is not named properly. It is NOT a GZIP archive, it is a TAR archive. Use "tar -xf cmpci-5.68.tar_linux.gz" and the archive will be extracted properly."

"Mandrake Linux file roller application reported tht the type of tar was unknown and the view file produced an error "not a valid GZIP format". Does anyone know what the problem is? A driver is included in the ALSA, FYI."
