"It is not working in my machine because it don't install the port of communication...

But it can work in windows 2000 and 98"

"Could not deal with the mother-board integrated micro-modem on an old EnergyStar Systems Inc. system. No apparent answer for that system. USB doen't seem to play with an external modem and the on-board disables. Will try a serial modem -- now running Win XP Home Edition.

"Driver installed fine but 'port in use by another application' error received when trying to use modem. A later version of the package from smartlink (sla56-v4.00.06) fails to install (sticks at 66%)"

"Worked for me using Windows XP. All others I tried gave "no dial tone" message the same as the XP default driver. Modem was described as "V90 K56Flex HSP PCI modem" under windows 98."

"I too had problems with this driver under XP. Get "This device cannot start (code 10)". Same thing you get when you download it from PCtel. Was hoping somebody fixed it before they uploaded it here."
